We took some time out of our extremely busy schedule to get the low down on what going on our local scene this weekend.
Grinding Stone MX Park is hosting Round #5 of the Grinding Stone GP series. Here are a few things about the track and the event.
RPM-Who is Griding Stone MX?
GSMX–We are a Motocross sports park with all types of riding, Moto X track, ATV and UTV track, pee wee track, Moto Mini track , Enduro X track and single and gp courses.
RPM- How long has GP the track existed?
GSMX-Little over a year now.
RPM-Track layout? Elevation Changes?
GSMX-Lots of elevation changes!
RPM-Unique Obstacles/Features of the Track?
GSMX-Track is cut through the hills and desert terrain, outdoor motocross style.
RPM-What is the Grinding Stone GP?
GSMX- Our Series utilizes all our tracks, motox, sand wash, single track, fast roads and more at each race. Races are approximately 30-1hr long plus a lap and the courses ranging from 4-12 miles in length. Basically as many laps as you can complete in the time frame determines the winner.
RPM-How is it different than MX or Desert racing?
GSMX-Our Track layout offers amixture of everything in it.
RPM-What makes your GP unique?
GSMX-We have some of the best terrain in Arizona.
RPM-Number of classes you run in the GP?
GSMX-We offer over 30 classes from Pee Wee to 60 year olds. We have a class for everyone.
RPM-Length of the Race?
GSMX-4-12 miles a loop race for 45 min and we have one race that runs 1hr and ½
RPM-Can you run more than one class?
GSMX-Yes, we schedule them so you can run 2-4 races and we offer a Team Race.
RPM-Dirt Bikes, Mini’s, ATV, Utility ATV’s, UTV’s allowed?
GSMX-All including Trophy Karts.
RPM-Camping allowed?
GSMX-Yes at no extra charge (FREE)
RPM-Required Safety Equipment?
GSMX–Must wear helmet, goggles and boots
RPM-Pitting allowed?
GSMX-Yes
RPM-Outside Assistance Allowed – (outside of your pit)?
GSMX–Yes
