San Bernardino, Calif. – The season finale of the 2009 Baja Cup Challenge Off-Road Racing Series has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Glen Helen Raceway. The Baja Cup Challenge is an off-road competition designed for desert-style trucks and buggies that pits man and machine versus a 4.5 mile natural and man-made race course.
Due to inclement weather in December the event was rescheduled to provide the best experience for the teams and to produce the most exciting event possible. The format will also change for the rescheduled event to offer race teams an opportunity to prepare for upcoming desert races. The truck and buggy classes will race for one hour, have an hour break and then return to the race track for one more hour of competition. “The new format will allow teams a perfect testing opportunity, a chance to work on the race vehicles and the ability to switch drivers during the break”, states Bud Feldkamp, Glen Helen Raceway President. He continues, “Teams can utilize the Baja Cup for real race testing and have a chance to win the event purse with a very affordable entry fee.”
It’s not just the 6th annual Baja Cup Challenge; it’s the final round of the 4 round points Series!
