Walsh Race Craft & Jeremy Laswson 3rd Overall at GNC round 8 PVR

July 16th, 2010

walsh-atv-logo-250Jeremy was on a brand new LT-R450 we had just finished assembling on Thursday around midnight, just in time to leave for the race.

This weekend started off just like most of our weekends. Saturday practice went well, we tuned the quad and got ready for Sunday morning qualifying. Sunday morning went well, but nothing special, as Jeremy finished the practice in 9th place. However this would prove nothing.

Moto One: At the drop of the gate things didn’t look so well as Jeremy had a terrible reaction off the sticky concrete at PVR. However, he was lined up on the inside and snuck into 5th place around the 1st corner! Within a few laps he caught up to Cody Gibson and quickly passed him for the 4th place position. Joe Byrd was in 3rd place at this time and Jeremy was focused on moving forward. Within a few more laps Jeremy caught and had a little battle with Byrd, Jeremy tried to pass Byrd in an off camber sweeping right hand corner. But, in the next corner Jeremy went on the inside of Byrd and made the pass stick. Jeremy kept his head down the entire moto, turning the top two fastest lap times. He gained on the leaders Natalie and Wimmer, but did not have enough time to get close enough to pass. Lawson ended the moto respectably in 3rd place!

Moto Two: Unfortunately, Jeremy had the same poor reaction at the gate drop. But, again he would make a 1st corner move as he came around in 7th place.

Jeremy was on a mission again, he made a magical move in the 1st pro section where he passed Wimmer, Wienen, and Warnia to move into 4th place. Now Jeremy had some work to do as he set his sights on Josh Upperman. Jeremy pushed Upperman around the track as they closed the gap on second place John Natalie. Upperman was running strong, and on the second to last lap we thought the pass would not happen. But, then to our surprise, Jeremy made a move on the inside of a left hand corner before a double-double section, but the pass did not stick.

As they battled for the third place position the racing was intense, finally on the last lap Jeremy made the same move in the same corner and made it stick! Jeremy Lawson ended the moto respectably in 3rd place!

Jeremy turned heads all Sunday and received a lot of recognition on his new yellow LT-R450. Walsh & Lawson would like to thank all of our sponsors and all of the ATV motocross supporters!
