Back On Top, and Fighting to Stay There

This years edition of WORCS Week in Olympia, WA kicked off with a weekend of Hare Scrambles racing in the woods surrounding Straddleline ORV Park. Tall old growth timbers, tree roots, rocks and a bit of mud challenged the racers as they navigated their way through the tight course built by the WORCS staff. Unlike a typical WORCS weekend, the racers had the added challenge of dead engine starts, longer laps, and they rode very little of the motocross track. Read the rest of this entry »

WORCS WEEK 2010

SENDING A MESSAGE, that’s what FMF/KTM’s Kurt Caselli intended to do as he waited for the gate to drop on the WORCS Round 8 Sunday Main. Winning the round 7 Hare Scramble race that kicked off WORCS Week gave him a 1 point lead coming into this race one week later.

 Ham Lake, MN — Motowoz Performance Systems Products is pleased to announce six amateur racers using its shocks have won national titles in seven classes in the prestigious 2010 ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA ATV Motocross Championship Series. Five of the six riders competed in the youth ranks and the other raced in the Women’s C class. Nineteen riders earned at least a top five positions in their class and recorded a mind-boggling 64 overall wins this year on their Motowoz-equipped ATVs.  This 700-acre facility will be called “The Ranch” and is designed and built by Marc Peters of Petersbuilttracks.com.
Five (5) Motocross tracks with terrain for all rider’s capabilities and equipment, from the Main track with four-five lines through every corner and 36 ft wide straight a ways. MESA, AZ – AUGUST 15, 2010: FAST-Aid has opened a donation pool for the families of the casualties and the injured at the MDR California 200 off road race accident. FAST-Aid, similar in nature to the Red Cross, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial, educational and personal assistance to injured racers, support teams and their families as well as ensures the necessary support is in place to complete a thorough recovery and rehabilitation from motor sports racing incidents.

After a thrilling debut night in Round 9 here at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series returned to do it all over again in Round 10. With another sellout, standing room only crowd enjoying great weather and a great atmosphere under the lights, the stage was set for another great night at the races, and the drivers didn’t disappoint. WORCS ATV PRO REPORT- Round 7 Straddleline WA

In 2008, Josh Frederick was able to clinch the WORCS ATV Pro Championship even after getting a DNF at the final round. In 2009, Beau Baron only needed to finish in the top 10 to win the championship and take the #1 plate away. In 2010, with only two rounds of competition left, Frederick and Baron are separated by only 2 points. The title this year is likely going to come down to who can beat who in the final two rounds!  Exclusive Interview with Brian Evans over at Spiked Industries
We met Brian Evans during the ATV DWT series and also at the Indy Dealer show this year and we were impressed with what Spike Industries has been bringing to the Off-Road Industry. After many emails we finally got some time to get to know more about Spiked Industries as we sat down with Brian Evans for a quick chat.
RPM: When did spike industries get started?
Brian: Spiked was founded in 2007 as I was starting college, it began in my parents spare bedroom with money I used from school loans because I couldn’t get business financing at 19.

 The stator went out in the race Rhino this past weekend. It was not running well for practice and on Saturday, a friend of mine helped me out immensely by tearing into the motor to see what was the problem while I was out sweeping. After calling every bike shop within 75 miles, I was out of luck for finding a stator. What to do? I put the blue Rhino through its paces and managed a podium spot.
