Corona, California (September 21, 2010) – Arizona’s summer may be cooling off, but things around Surprise’s favorite off road park are heating up. The return of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is creating a lot of buzz around the community. The very exciting short course series has become increasingly popular with locals and motorsports fans across the region for the intense wheel to wheel racing, technical obstacles, high speeds, big airs, and wild crashes.
Rounds 11 & 12 will mark the final visit to Speedworld Off Road Park for the 2010 season and a barrage of promotions have been scheduled by Roland McNew and the Speedworld Marketing Team to ensure another successful race weekend. Tune into area radio programming for ticket giveaways and make sure to visit your local Circle K for discounted coupons.
Once again Speedworld and a handful of Lucas Oil Off Road stars will be visiting the Phoenix Children’s Hospital on September 22 to give out hugs and autographs to special fans and less fortunate children.
On Thursday September 23 12:30PM – 2:30PM, there will be a Lucas Oil Off Road Meet and Greet at the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Phoenix Campus. UTI is a nationwide provider of technical education training for careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine technicians. Lucas Oil Off Road Race Director, Tony Vanillo suggested “This is a perfect platform for Lucas Oil Off Road to reach out to the community and associate the students education with real world applications.” To pump up UTI and MMI students, Rockstar Energy will be supporting the promotion through sampling and giveaways in conjunction with LOORRS Vehicle displays and racers signing autographs.
In addition, Rick Geiser and the Canidae Pro-2 Unlimited Chevy Truck is scheduled to be on display signing autographs at the El Mirage NAPA Auto Parts Store. NAPA is currently running some great specials including $3.49 for a 5.25 fl. Oz. bottle of Lucas Fuel Treatment. There will also be a Lucas Oil representative with an on-site booth display informing customers about the Lucas High Performance Racing Only Products and cutting some killer deals. NAPA is located on the corner of Greenway and Grand at 12555 NW Grand Ave El Mirage, AZ 85335.
On Thursday night, 7:00PM -10:00PM, Speedworld has brought back the widely popular “Ride with the Stars”. This is your chance to ride on the Speedworld MX track with the stars of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and legends of Motocross. Jeremy McGrath, Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, Robert Naughton, Brian Deegan, and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg are all scheduled to appear. Last year there were approximately 600 spectators present. You do not want to miss out on this opportunity to ride elbow-to-elbow with the greats, so make sure to haul your bikes out to Speedworld!
Friday, gates open at 9:00AM and a $10 ticket will get you a full day of practice for all divisions. This is often a good occasion for spectators to witness spectacular crashes as the drivers break in the track and tune vehicle set up.
Friday Night, “The Fan Appreciation Party” will kick start the festivities at Buffalo Wild Wings. Off road enthusiast and patrons will be able to interact with their favorite racers and race teams. Drivers will be signing autographs and hanging out with fans, so take advantage of photo opportunities and candid conversation with the stars of the sport. This is a popular pre-race party that has become a Surprise tradition. Buffalo Wild Wings is located at 13882 W Bell Rd. Surprise, AZ 85374. This is free to attend and there is no cover charge, just great food and drink specials.
Speedworld Off Road Park is considered one of the fan favorites of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. The “Mogul” section is unique to Speedworld and poses a difficult obstacle for even seasoned drivers. Other popular features include a wide open 80 MPH left hand sweeper and 2 spectacular front straight away big air jumps. Make sure to stop by the Lucas Oil booth and enter to win an iPod Nano loaded with Lucas Oil TV Shows and other additional prizes. Looking at day time highs under 100 Degrees, you can expect big crowds and lots of fun.
