Husqvarna and Burson One Step Away from USDR Championship
Burson takes another win at round four of the U.S. Desert Racing series
October 17, 2011 – Corona, CA – Nick Burson was on the move at The Ranch in Anza, California once again, this time en route to another USDR victory. Burson piloted his Zip-Ty Racing Husqvarna TXC511 to a convincing win on the tight and dusty course, and is now one race away from taking his fifth USDR title.“There’s one round to go and I have a 50-point lead,” Burson said. “So I should just have to finish (the final round) to get the championship.” In a change of pace, round four of the USDR series was run in a hare scrambles format on a tighter course with motocross sections added in. “It was pretty fun,” Burson commented. “It was a little dusty when we caught lappers, but other than that, I like that place. It had some fast section and then the tight single-track. They’re just trying something new because the BLM costs are getting expensive to have a race out at Red Mountain.” |
The final round of the 2011 U.S. Desert Racing championship takes place on November 12, 2011 at Red Mountain, where Burson looks to successfully defend his championship.
“The USDR is an excellent platform for us to showcase the Husqvarna TXC511,” commented Husqvarna National Marketing Manager Corey Eastman. “Burson has had a great season on it so far, and it goes to show what an ideal desert bike the TXC511 is. We look forward to Nick bringing home the championship next month.”
