This past weekend Lucerne Valley played host to the final round of the 2011 AMA National Hare and Hound series. Kendall Norman’s performance was a near duplicate of his previous race just 2 weeks before where he took his Honda CRF450X to yet another wire to wire victory. The 100’s MC hosted one of the most unique events for the final of the 9 round series. The course consisted of 4 individual loops, totaling 95 miles of the gnarliest, rockiest terrain in Lucerne Valley. Kendall’s day started with a monster holeshot leading the competition through the bomb run and finishing the first loop with a 20 second lead over 2nd place. The second loop, Kendall was able to put a sizable gap on the field and start his runaway. The third loop was the longest loop of 40 miles. By this point Kendall had put over 3 minutes on the nearest competition and maintained that gap throughout the 4th and final loop of the race.
Congratulations are also in order for JCR/Honda teammates, David Kamo for a solid 5th place coming from behind, Colton Udall who overcame a big crash to finish 11th overall. Quinn Cody who was battling at the front of the race would not be so fortunate after a collision with a boulder abruptly ended his race.
After the dominating race Kendall had this to say: “I had a good day. I had a couple bobbles during the race but fortunately I was able to run away from the field. The 100’s MC did a good job with the course, it was fun and challenging. Big thanks to my pit crew who did an awesome job.” — Kendall Norman
“In Off-Road racing it’s all about perseverance and overcoming the challenges that we face. We thrive on overcoming those obstacles and that is what makes winning feel so great. Today Kendall overcame those challenges and raced like the champion that he is. He was focused and very determined. I am very proud of our Team for a fantastic job well done. Congratulations to Kendall and our race support staff for all their hard work.”
