UTV Rally is dedicated to hosting Fun Runs, Rally’s and UTV Events. Our first UTV Rallies are going to be held in Rocky Point, Sonora, Mexico. These are not races, currently they are just fun rides in unique areas of the world. Below is the update on the UTV Rally in Rocky Point.
Andy Myers of NeverStopRiding.com, will be leading this unforgettable UTV Rally. Myers has ridden in unique places all over the world, and Sonora, Mexico has always been a second home to him. Below is the information for the First UTV Rally. Please read all the information so that you know how the Rally works, especially if this is your first time.
Date: Nov. 13th, 2015
Start: Sonoita, Sonora Mexico 10:00 am
Rodeo Grounds on the Way to Rocky Point
Last Vehicle Leaves the grounds at 11:00 am. After that no one from our group will be there to provide information, guiding, or route information. If you decide to go at it alone, you are alone.
Route: Sonoita to Rocky Point
Distance: 70 miles plus
Vehicles: You may drive any vehicle of your choice in the run, so long as it can make it and have a safe and comfortable ride on it, or in it. Please consider and remember this is not a RACE, so cruise at a cool pace. If you want to go out in front you do it at your own risk. PLEASE DO NOT RUIN THE EXPERIENCE FOR OTHERS BY BEING A SHOWBOATER. No one wants that, this is a fun adventure for everyone to enjoy and make memories. All are welcome from MX’ers, SandCars, Pre-Runners, Race Cars, Jeeps, Adventure Bikes, Quads and whatever creations are out there! Everyone is welcome to participate.
Terrain: Dirt roads, Sand, Sand Dunes, silt, rocks.
Gas: Don’t bring more than 5 gallons of Gas into Mexico or they may confiscate it or tax it. Bring your vehicle ready; pump gas in Mexico will work just fine. Andy Myers has been driving all around Mexico for over 30 years.
Experience: Novice to Pro. These are easy runs, no pressure, go at your own pace but try to keep up. We will have one lead vehicle and one at the end for issues and stragglers. We are running close to the highway so if there is an issue you can get to the highway and call for your support.
Support: There will be other vehicles and hopefully you bring some friends. We will not be bringing tow trucks, tow vehicles or trucks with trailers for support. You will need to have a support vehicle or buddy system with fellow riders. The distance is not too great and this is great preparation for your learning or just to have a great time with friends, family and meet new friends that all have the passion for the same thing.
What to Bring: Helmets, Water, Jackets, Rain Wear, Gloves, Goggles, Tent in case you get stuck out all night, energy bars, food, boots, long sleeve shirt, and pants, flashlights, power banks, cell phone, cameras, waterproof bags, tow rope, jumper cables, zip ties, duct tape, tools, ect.
In Rocky Point: Make sure you have a campsite, hotel, or other accommodations pre-arranged. Once we hit Rocky Point, everyone can do whatever they want. We suggest running Comp Hill at Black Mountain, hitting the Reef, or just settling in and get ready for the ride out to JJ”s for the UTV Rally Raffles between 8-10pm on Friday night. JJ’s will be having Happy Hour Specials from 8-10pm. We will have more information at NeverStopRiding.com
On Saturday November 14th, we will be at the hill, so if you missed the Run, meet us out there to enjoy the day!
Drag Races: Will be at Pista Los Patos on Saturday Night from 6pm to 10pm. There will be real classes, and there will be run what you brought classes for everyone to test their skills.
***Please Note: The Rocky Point Rally will be going on at the same time. We advise that the UTV’s stay away from the Maleconon Friday and Saturday night as it will be chaos down there with all the bikes. You can go, just note that there will be a lot of bikes. We are trying to keep our activities in dirt areas, aka Comp Hill, the Reef, JJ’s, Pista los Patos, and all the riding areas around Rocky Point. Most of all be safe and enjoy the ride!
