WORLDS TOUGHEST RACE SERIES

Story and Photos By Winged Nut & Associates

Arguably, America’s best race action series got underway in the air-conditioned comfort of the Orleans Arena, located in America’s gambling mecca-Las Vegas. Of course, outside the temps hovered at around 112 degrees.

This made for some heated racing, where the riders were much cooler on the track, then they were outside in the scorching pits. The opening race saw defending Geico Endurocross champion, Red Bull/KTM rider Taddy Blazusiak, take the win ahead of multi-time Trials champ, Geoff Aaron, aboard his Christini backed KTM. Look for the battle between these two riders to heat up as the season heats up. Read the rest of this entry »

The amateur ranks of racers have been competitive and watching the 50cc and 65cc classes race this year has been a tremendous amount of fun. We have challenged the kids with more off-road to get them ready for the next step. The parents are always nervous but the kids just love it and the stories are very unique.

Walsh Race Craft & Jeremy Laswson 3rd Overall at GNC round 8 PVR

July 16th, 2010

walsh-atv-logo-250Jeremy was on a brand new LT-R450 we had just finished assembling on Thursday around midnight, just in time to leave for the race.

This weekend started off just like most of our weekends. Saturday practice went well, we tuned the quad and got ready for Sunday morning qualifying. Sunday morning went well, but nothing special, as Jeremy finished the practice in 9th place. However this would prove nothing.

Moto One: At the drop of the gate things didn’t look so well as Jeremy had a terrible reaction off the sticky concrete at PVR. However, he was lined up on the inside and snuck into 5th place around the 1st corner! Within a few laps he caught up to Cody Gibson and quickly passed him for the 4th place position. Joe Byrd was in 3rd place at this time and Jeremy was focused on moving forward. Within a few more laps Jeremy caught and had a little battle with Byrd, Jeremy tried to pass Byrd in an off camber Read the rest of this entry »

Jeff Stambaugh UTV race Report

July 1st, 2010

JeffStambaughLogoCahuilla Creek Race Report, Anza, CA
The weather in Anza was completely opposite of the race two weeks ago in Milford. Instead of 30 degrees and snowing, it was 90 plus with the sun beating down; and no shade to be found. Most of the time sweeping all day Saturday is a disadvantage to a racer, especially if your race is late in the day. You might get a lap or two in to see the course, but sweeping is hard work, and it’s hard work all day. By the end of a race day a sweep rider is pretty worn Read the rest of this entry »

June 24th, 2010

Lucas Oil Off Road Racing

Corona, California (June 23, 2010) -The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, with it’s high octane brand of short course off road mayhem is poised to make it’s debut at Miller Motorsports Park, in Tooele, Utah , June 26th and 27th . Nestled in the picturesque Tooele Valley just west of Salt Lake City, Miller Motorsports Park provides a unique setting for the often unpredictable, adrenaline fueled short course off road racing series.
Leading the charge is multi-time off road champion, Rob MacCachren in his 900 horse powered Pro 2 Unlimited truck. MacCachren, who will be performing double duty racing the Stronghold Engineering, Pro 4 Unlimited, (4 wheel drive 900hp Full size truck) holds a slim lead over motocross legend Ricky Johnson in the Pro 2 class. Though Johnson and “Rob Mac” have diced throughout the young season for supremacy, emerging stars Bryce Menzies and Rodrigo Ampudia are making their presence felt with speed and consistency.
In this 2010 season, Rick Huseman has been the class of the field in Pro 4 Unlimited. While Huseman’s multiple podiums and victories this season have given him control of the Pro 4 season’s standings, 2009 defending class champion, Carl Renezeder, currently holding on to the second spot, is coming to Utah with Adrian Cenni and the father and son tandem of Curt and Kyle LeDuc prepared to show Huseman that the Pro 4 championship is not easy to come by.
Putting the disappointing loss of the 2009 ProLite (300hp Minitruck) championship behind him, Chris Brandt is on top of the class title chase while Matt Loiodice has inserted himself between Brant and defending champion Brian Deegan who sits in third. Loiodice, in this his second full year in the ProLite class, has had a strong start to the season in a class loaded with veteran talent.
Each day will provide a full day of racing, featuring the above mentioned classes in addition to SuperLite Truck, Pro Buggy Unlimited, Limited Buggy, UTV and Karts. Throughout the entire event, team pit areas in the paddock can be viewed by the public for spectators to have an up close and personal look at the teams and vehicle preparation.
Spectators are also invited to explore the expansive Miller Motorsports Park, 2008 Motorsports Facility of the Year, with its Vintage Automotive Museum, Kart track and a multitude of vendors, vehicles and interactive displays.
As part of Saturday’s festivities, Motorsports Racing Legend, Mario Andretti will be appearing courtesy of Magnaflow Exhaust. Mr. Andretti will be available at 1:00pm at the Magnaflow Exhaust semi-trailer in the paddock to meet with fans and sign autographs.
